If you?ve ever tried taking your own picture by yourself, you know how difficult of a task that is. Trying to frame yourself with no reference is a pain. Of course you can ask someone to take a picture for your but sometimes you don?t have any one near by or don?t want to hand over your expensive digital camera to a complete stranger. Thankfully, Samsung has a solution for you with the Samsung PL120 digital camera.
What makes the PL120 unique and perfect for self portraits is that it features two LCDs. Its back features a smallish 2.7? LCD. On the front, you?ll find an even smaller 1.7?. Although the front LCD is small, it?s not meant for reviewing your photos but instead provides you with a reference of what your photo will look like. No more guessing and aiming. Other features of the Samsung PL120 are 5x optical zoom, 720p video recording, and a 14 megapixel sensor.
So how about photo quality? Unfortunately the PL120 only takes mediocre shots but performs pretty well in low light. This is to be expected for such an inexpensive camera that features two LCDs. Reviewers also state that there is also a large delay from shot to shot because of slow photo processing. Overall, the PL120 is a great starter camera that is compact, takes decent photos, and offers good image stability.
While professional photographers should look else where, the Samsung PL120 is perfect for someone who is just starting out with digital photography and wants to be able to take self portraits with ease.
