Pacquiao planning return against Marquez next year ? Boxing News

Filipino fight king Manny Pacquiao is planning on making his ring return next year against Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao, who lost via sixth round knockout to Marquez earlier this month, believes he was lucky to walk out of the ring on his feet. The Pac-man is in high spirits and wants to make sure he acquires his lost position once again.

?It could have been worse and I could have been in serious trouble,? said Pacquiao in his recent interview while resting in his Forbes Park Home.

?If I had the strength to get up at that time, I would have fought back with Marquez and I would probably have received more punches,? he added.

Pacquiao was leading the showdown against Marquez. However, he made the mistake of walking into Marquez?s trap just when he was countered with a huge right. The former WBO welterweight titlist immediately hit the canvas and lied there motionless for some time. It was the first time in Pac-man?s career that he had to deal with such a situation.

Unlike others, Pacquiao was able to wear a smile after he got up. He congratulated Marquez for the victory and left for a clinical check-up.

?The result would have been more devastating,? said Pacquiao who believes he could have went into a coma as usually fighters do with such devastating punches.

Right now, the Filipino is under a lot of criticism from his fellow fighters, supporters, critics and boxing analysts. For most of them, the Pac-man has lost focus, as he has stepped into politics and religion. Some are even calling for the Pac-man to retire, believing there is nothing left for him to prove.

Nevertheless, despite all the criticisms, Pacquiao believes he lost the fight due to a mistake he made and he is ready to rectify it. The Filipino fight king wants to face Marquez again, to ensure he is victorious against his nemesis once again.

Pacquiao has won two out of four fights against Marquez, while the latter has one victory in his bag. For Marquez, it was a joyous as he finally got his revenge over Pacquiao.
