HAFIZABAD: Rustam-e-Pakistan Usman Majeed Billoo has called upon chief minister of the Punjab to patronize the traditional wrestling in the Punjab by providing all sorts of amenities particularly land for the Akharas (Arenas) and proper training.Addressing press conference at the residence of Haji Bilal Rahmani president district wrestling association Hafizabad, Billoo Pehlwan regretted that he had won the title of Rustam-e-Pakistan about three months back but neither the federal government nor the provincial government had provided him any cash reward. Even the CM and PM had not verbally congratulated him for winning the highest wrestling honour of Pakistan.?He said traditional wrestling is oldest and favourite game of the Punjabis but the Punjab government is evincing little interest. Majeed Billoo, is also national champion, which honour he get while playing from WAPDA but WAPDA has not yet provided any financial assistance to him. He regretted that due to lack of interest of the government he could proceed to Australia where he had to participate in wrestling bouts.He challenged Rustam-e-Hind for bout and urged the government to patronize this traditional game for its promotion to save the younger generation from loading astray.
